Major Infrastructure Projects and Congestion Alleviation in Focus: Kalyan Ring Road, Airoli Katai Freeway, and Nevali Phata among key developments discussed
On 7th June, Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde and other public representatives met with MMRDA commissioner Dr Sanjay Mukherjee at MMRDA headquarters.
The review meeting centered around ongoing projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and transportation between Kalyan, Dombivli, Diva, Mumbra, Kalwa, Ambernath, and Ulhasnagar.
With 87% completion of land acquisition for phase III of the Kalyan Ring Road project, the MMRDA official shared that the land would soon be transferred to the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation.
The official also assured that they are actively addressing any remaining hurdles to ensure smooth progress.

During the meeting, Shinde announced that the Airoli-Katai Elevated Road, an ambitious project aimed at enhancing connectivity between Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Kalyan, will progress further. A tender will soon be announced for the third phase of the project, signaling continued efforts to improve regional transportation infrastructure.

The Chakki Naka to Nevali to Haji Malang Road in Kalyan has received ₹11 crore in funding, while ₹73 crore has been sanctioned for the U-shaped road in Kalyan East.
Additionally, a flyover has been approved for Nevali Chowk on the Badlapur-Katai stretch. Nevali Chowk experiences significant congestion as it serves as the intersection for four major roads linking Kalyan, Badlapur, Haji Malang, and Navi Mumbai.
