Why is the Shilphata Region witnessing an exceptional development boom?

The Growth Centre at Kalyan Taluka (Shiphata Region) is one of the four Proposed Growth Centres identified as per the Draft Regional Plan of MMR. MMRDA identified an area of approx. 1,089 Hectare to be developed as Growth Centre on the lines of Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai.

Shilphata Road developed the advantage of being located between two employment-generating locations namely Mumbai and Navi Mumbai via its proximity to Eastern Expres Highway and Thane Belapur Road.
